Routinely hailed by modern critics as literature’s greatest adventure tale, Robert Louis Stevenson’s immortal classic, “Treasure Island,” comes to life on the LifeHouse stage.

“Treasure Island” is written by LifeHouse founder and president Wayne R. Scott with music and lyrics by Scott and renowned film and stage composers Nolan and Jason Livesay, whose work includes the Academy Award-winning film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” TV shows “The Orville,” and “Defenders” and the Spider-Man game soundtrack.  This action-packed family musical contains all the memorable elements of the novel and a few added surprise twists.  Intrigue combines with double crosses, a treasure chest, swashbuckling sword fights, and the unraveling of mysterious secrets to make this an unforgettable theater experience for all ages.

Performances begin Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 7:00 PM and will continue on weekends through June 9, 2019.  Performances are Fridays at 7:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:00 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM.  In addition to the weekend performances, a special throwback Thursday evening performance, with special pricing, will be offered on June 6 at 7:00 PM. The performance on Friday, May 24, at 7:00 PM will also feature an interpreted presentation for the deaf.

Regular advance ticket prices for each production are $20 or $26 for adults and $10 or $13 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted). Tickets are $2 more the day of the performance. Group rates are available for groups of ten or more.  Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as performances will sell out.

“We are thrilled that audiences have demanded the return of this exciting production, which has been among our most critically acclaimed,” comments Scott.  “The choreography combines with impressive sword fighting and stage combat to make this fun musical a delightful swashbuckler for the whole family.”

The cast of veteran Inland Empire LifeHouse storytellers features the talents of Duane Crother as Long John Silver and Micah Derry as Jim Hawkins.  Also featured are Jonathan Bushey as Dr. Livesay, Don Johnson as Squire Trelawney, Jennifer DeWitt as Mrs. Hawkins, Julie Carlson as Auntie Hawkins, Nick Diliberto as Captain Smollett, Renata Quijada as Calico Kate, Jeremy Yeo as Black Dog, Olin Richey, Sr. as Israel Hands, Bonnie Le as Bonnie Bones, Paul Zanone as Blind Pew, Ed Derry as Captain Flint and Ben Johnson as Ben Gunn.

The award-winning production staff of “Treasure Island” includes director Jeff DeWitt, choreographer Emilie Helvey, music director Jeremy Yeo, costume designer Cristy Conrad and set designers Vincent Martinucci and Tim Mahoney. Stage combat has been created by Zach Simons and David Christison.

LifeHouse Theater’s 25th silver anniversary season continues in with the LifeHouse premiere of the Broadway hit musical, Disney’s “Mary Poppins” (June 22 - July 21, 2019), then concludes with “Les Miserablès: A New Drama” (August 3 - September 1, 2019) and “Cinderella” (September 14 - October 20, 2019).  Money-saving pro-rated season passes are now on sale at the LifeHouse Theater Box Office.

The theater is located at 1135 N. Church St. in Redlands, next to the Redlands Christian School.  Free parking is available in the back of the theater.  More information can be found by visiting the website at www.lifehousetheater.com.
