Titans Go Head to Head with YellowJackets

The great rivalry had finally arrived- Titans versus Yellowjackets. The battle began with Colton Yellowjackets' QB Samson Rodriguez #17 passing for a quick first touchdown to Jose Torrero #28 for 15-yards to start the game up by 7. Grand Terrace Titans on their first possession punted the ball after not being able to get anything going. 

After Colton chose to punt with 4th and long, the snap went over his head and the punter fell on it to give Grand Terrace Titans a safety instead of a touchdown. Smart play by the Colton punter Fernando Villegas #5 that made the score 6-2. Colton on top with 5 minutes left in the 1st quarter.

Grand Terrace got into the Yellowjackets' redzone but a fumble with the handoff by Malachi Compton #2 was recovered by Colton. 

Next play Colton’s QB Samson Rodriguez #17 passed to the Wide Receiver Jose Martinez #7 taking it to the house 94-yards for the big touchdown with a huge momentum change. 14-2 Colton up.

After a GT punt, Colton passed for 65-yards to WR Jose Torrero #28 to set up a first and goal. Colton on the 9-yard line with fourth and goal and Colton’s QB was sacked by David Gusta #60 and Phoenyx Torres #42 forcing a turnover on downs as the crowd roared with excitement. GT cornerback Jaden Wells #4 picked off the ball on Colton's 20-yard line with great field position. GT with the ball next to the goal line on the 3-yard line, Mekhi Lewis #12 passed it to Corey Young #18 for the 3-yard passing touchdown with 50 seconds left in the first half. GT down 9-14 at Halftime.

GT came out of halftime on fire with a strong run game, Malachi Compton #2 got the handoff and broke off 8 tackles as the crowd was roaring for the amazing 40-yard touchdown run.

Colton punted the ball after forcing a 3 and out. GT with the ball and Rohan Preston #20 got the rock and broke off a bunch of tackles for a 11-yard first down run. Malachi Compton #2 got another 15-yard bully run for a first down and making it first and goal on the 6-yard line. On the one-yard line Troy Steptoe #1 jump over the line for his first touchdown of the day.

Next GT possession Mekhi Lewis #12 passed to Garrett Ostrinkski #15 for 35-yards. Setting up first and goal GT ran the ball in for a touchdown. 30-14 GT.

After a Colton punt the Titans started off throwing the ball deep and it was picked off by Norman Zapata #21 of Colton starting their possession on their own 35-yard line. 

On the next Colton punt GT tackled down the punter to get great field possession on the 30. David Gusta #60 ran it in and bulldozed five yellowjacket defenders for the 6-yard touchdown run 37-14. 

Next Colton possession David Gusta #60 crushed the Colton QB on 3rd down for his 5th sack of the game, Colton punted the ball to GT. David Gusta completely dominated the game defensively with such a brute force.

GT has the ball and a first down but Mekhi Lewis #12 was stripped of the ball as Colton’s #8 recovered. Colton couldn’t get anything going on offense and forced a pass that was intercepted by Lucas Vargas #50 and was returned for 30-yards closing the game out for Grand Terrace Titans in the best rivalry game of the season.
