Titans Battle with the Skyhawks

The night started with the celebration of Senior Night as the football players, cheerleaders, Legacy Regiment walked with their families down the field as their names were announced. The crowd cheered loud as they supported them on their special night.

Grand Terrace (GT) start the last league/season game of the year on their own 26-yard line. Rohan Preston #20 found a hole and ran thru it for a 20 yard gain. After an okay 50-yard drive, penalties ended the drive with a turnover on downs.

Summit High School Skyhawks came out with some trickery on a 70-yard pass where the QB tossed it to the motioned Wide Receiver (WR) Joshua Hornsby #17 passed it to the open WR Nate Ellison #2 for an easy run in for the touchdown. 

Summit with the ball on their own 18-yard line, passed to WR Joshua Hornsby #17 for a quick 82-yard receiving touchdown by sprinting pass the cornerback for deep pass. Summit up 14-0

Titans starts their drive on the 48-yard line, Mekhi Lewis #12  quick pass to Lonzel Bradford #13 was jumped on his route and was intercepted by Cornerback (CB) Jesse Bradberry #4 of Summit and returned 48-yards to the house for six. 21-0

GT came out firing as Mekhi Lewis #12 fired a 26-yard touchdown pass to Lonzel Bradford #13 to score the first GT touchdown of the night. 28-7

With 2:30 minutes left in the first half GT has the ball and couldn’t really put some badly needed points on the drive. Once they got to the 25-yard line they could not complete any passes for 4 straight downs giving Summit the ball back with 20 seconds to play but they let it run down into Halftime Summit up 28-7.

Summit Skyhawks come out of halftime and received the ball. Darrin Thomas #1 returned it for a pretty good 23-yard run back. RB Adrion Boyd #29 ended the drive with a 7-yard touchdown run. Summit up 34-7

Grand Terrace Titans had a great drive led by the running ability of Rohan Preston #20. Turnover on downs after an incomplete pass that led to Lonzel Bradford #13 hurting his arm barely walking off the field but was cleared to play the rest of the game. 

The 66-yard punt returned for a touchdown by Adrion Boyd #29 having an amazing highlight filled game for himself. 49-7.

Summit took advantage with a 2-yard passing touchdown from QB Christian McDonalad #15 to Nate Ellison #2 grabbing it on top of the corner for the strong touchdown grab. 55-7. 

 GT with the ball and Lonzel Bradford #13 lined up at QB took the snap found a hole bounced off defenders then dusted them for an 59-yard touchdown run. 62-14 

A 15-yard pass by Mekhi Lewis #12 to the corner of the endzone for Corey Young #18 for the touchdown. 62-21 GT is up. Game over Summit Skyhawks walk away with a huge win for 2nd place in league 62-21. Grand Terrace ended League play with 3rd place and will take on Notre Dame in the first round of the CIF playoffs.
