The Rise of King David

LifeHouse Theater proudly presents the biblical story of David and his ascension to the throne of Israel in the powerful dramatic musical “The Rise of King David.”

Performances begin Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will continue on weekends through April 26, 2020. Performances are Fridays at 7:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. In addition to the weekend performances, there will be a special Thursday performance on April 23 at 7:00 PM. There will be no performance on Easter Sunday, April 12. The performance on Friday, April 3 will also feature an interpreted presentation for the deaf.

Regular advance ticket prices are $22 or $26 for adults and $11 or $13 for children ages 3-11 (no children under 3 are admitted) and can be purchased over the phone with a Visa or MasterCard by calling (909) 335-3037. Tickets are available online at boxoffice.lifehousetheater.com. Checks can also be mailed to LifeHouse, provided reservations are made far enough in advance. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the box office, which is open Fridays from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM and one hour prior to performance times on the weekends. Tickets are $2 more the day of the performance. Group rates are available for groups of ten or more. Guests are encouraged to reserve seats early as performances will sell out.

“The Rise of King David” is a musical adventure based on the biblical books of Samuel and the Psalms of David. The story traces David’s harrowing journey to becoming the most revered king of Israel and features his famous battle with Goliath, his legendary friendship with King Saul’s son Jonathan, and his flight from certain death at the hands of Saul himself.

“Few biblical stories feature the amazing intrigue, adventure, romance and suspense as are found in the life of David,” comments LifeHouse Theater founder and president Wayne Scott. “The dazzling choreography, beautiful musical score and unforgettable events all combine for a powerful and inspiring theater experience audiences are sure to appreciate.”

The cast of LifeHouse storytellers includes over 40 veteran Inland Empire actors and actresses. The musical features the award-winning talents of Jacob Williams as David, Duane Crother as King Saul, Jeremy Yeo as Jonathan, and Danny Blair as Samuel. Also featured are Paul Zanone as Abner, Nick Diliberto as David’s father Jesse, Levi Michel as Abiathar and Jennifer Keeney as the Witch of Endor.

“The Rise of King David” is written by Dustin Ceithamer. The musical score for the production is by renowned film and stage composer Nolan Livesay. The Musical is directed by Jennifer M. DeWitt with choreography by Ashtin Loya and music direction by Sarah Pearce and Jeremy Yeo. Set design is by Tim Mahoney and Vincent Martinucchi.

The theater is located at 1135 N. Church St. in Redlands, next to the Redlands Christian School. Free parking is available in back of the theater. More information can be found by visiting the website at www.lifehousetheater.com.

LifeHouse Theater’s 26th season continues with “Little Women” (May 9 - June 14, 2020), “The Three Musketeers” (June 27 - August 2, 2020), “Esther!” (August 15 - September 13, 2020), and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” (September 26 - October 25, 2020). Money-saving season passes are now on sale at the LifeHouse Box Office.
