On January 14, 2019, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department began their investigation into missing 16-year-old, Aranda Briones, who was last seen by friends and family on Sunday, January 13, 2019. The case was initially referred to Moreno Valley Investigators who began an exhaustive search for Aranda. In the days that followed, the Moreno Valley Police Department obtained the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau and the FBI. Based on circumstances learned during the investigation, the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit assumed the case.
On February 11, 2019, at approximately 10:30 PM, members of the Sheriff’s SWAT team served a search warrant in the 16200 block of Grevillea Street in the City of Hesperia. They were assisted by investigators with the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit, Major Crimes Unit and the Moreno Valley Police Special Enforcement Team. Brothers Owen Skyler Shover, age 18, and Gary Anthony Shover, age 21, were arrested for the murder of Aranda Briones.
This is an active investigation and we are still seeking the public’s assistance in helping us find Aranda. Investigators with the Moreno Valley Police Department continue to investigate the disappearance of Aranda Briones, 16 of Moreno Valley. Briones was last seen Sunday, January 13, 2019. Investigators continue to search footage from the Moreno Valley citywide camera system and follow up on numerous leads generated from the public, family and friends.Since the inception of the investigation, Moreno Valley Police have utilized every available resource, to include the anti-human trafficking team and the FBI in an effort to locate Aranda Briones.

On Monday, January 14, 2019 Moreno Valley Police Department began investigating the disappearance of a female juvenile, Aranda Briones, 16. Briones never returned home after a night out with some friends. Over the past week, investigators have searched last known locations and spoke to several family and friends of Briones in an attempt to locate her. Briones’ last known location is believed to be near Moreno Valley Community park located at 13380 Frederick Street in Moreno Valley.
Aranda Briones is 5’04”, 110lbs, brown hair and brown eyes. She is believed to wearing a white and blue jacket (depicted in the attached picture), a dark colored shirt and dark jeans. Briones has a visible nose piercing (septum).
