Spring Garden Festival and Standard Flower Show 2020

This weekend will be a great time to travel to the Historic city of Colton to attend and enjoy the annual Spring Garden Festival and Standard Flower show Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Lawrence Hutton Community Center, 660 Colton Ave. Colton, CA. It is open to the public from 10 am – 4 pm. New and innovative floral designs will be showcased for your enjoyment including a unique way to display table settings. Be careful you might over look the miniature floral designs because they range from 3 inches to 8 inches tall. Photography, educational exhibits, some outstanding flowers including orchids, interesting cactus and succulents, as well as fruit, nuts and vegetables will be exhibited for your enjoyment. Be sure to visit the vendors with their cactus, succulents, orchids, wood work, jewelry, crafts, various items and interesting plants plus a food vendor. There will be an Orchid Doctor to answer any questions about your orchids that you own or will own. Information of garden related events and groups will be available for your convenience.

Presentations will be offered on Propagation and Care of Cactus and Succulents from 11am – 12 noon, How to Create a Fairy Garden 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm and Creating Your Own Miniature Floral Design to take home 2 pm – 3 pm. At 1:30pm there will be a planting of seeds and cuttings for children to experience and take home at least one or more plants. The show is sponsored by The Inland Empire Master Gardeners Club, The Riverside Flower Show Assoc., Inc. and the San Bernardino/Riverside Counties Orchid Society, Inc. These groups are all members of the National Garden Clubs Inc., Pacific Region Garden Clubs Inc, The California Garden Clubs Inc. and the Palms to Pines District.

Come early and enjoy the show, check out the vendors and while you are waiting for your choice of presentations, take time to visit the Colton Historical Museum and see some great Victorian Mansions. For the adventurous see if you can find the historical train caboose in the City of Colton.

The show is free admission and free parking.
