Seussical the Musical

“If you open your mind, oh, the thinks you will find”, advises the Cat in the Hat in The fantastical, magical extravaganza, “Seussical the Musical.”

Terrace View Elementary school brings this intriguing production to the Whitmer Auditorium at Colton High School and opens on Thursday April 19th through Saturday April 21st. 

Under the skilled direction of Ms. Geri Marquez, Terrace View Kindergarten teacher for over 28 years, with her dedicated team of volunteer choreographers, set designers, costume designers, stage management and parent  helpers. Ms Marquez celebrated  her 10th year directing these Broadway style shows at Terrace View in 2017, and this years show, SEUSSICAL THE Musical, makes a full circle during her 11th year, reprising her very first show.

It means so much to her as a teacher with a passion for live theater to continue the tradition of bringing the arts to Terrace View so that students can have the magical opportunity to perform on stage. 

“Seussical the Musical”, with book, music, and lyrics combines many of the Dr. Seuss’s best -loved and most familiar characters into a magical  story. With fantastical humor are underlying symbolism which show the great feats a true friend will go through , not giving up and keeping a promise.  This is a story of ‘Horton Hears a Who’ mixed with other Seuss stories. It gives a message a person is a person no matter how small or different from us. That’s the beauty of this story—caring for one another and celebrating our differences and seeing how wonderful we all can be. This is a story for all ages.

“Seussicals” colorful characters will captivate the audience from little fish in McElligot's pool,  to the circus McGurkus to the invisible world of The Who’s.  Ultimately, the power of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

The Seussical cast includes over 100 amazing Terrace View Students, and additional cast include students and adults from the local area. Award winning, seasoned actors from throughout the Inland Empire take the lead roles and lead the Terrace View Students into a professional production performed with a live orchestra.

The show will be at the Colton High School  777 w Valley Blvd. Colton.

Tickets are available for presale for $12; they will be $15 at the door. 

Showtimes April 19-21st 7pm

In addition to a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
