On 8/6/18 at about 2:54 P.M. officers responded to the 1200 block of East Cooley Dr. for a possible armed robbery in progress.  Once at the location it was determined that the suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money from the employees.  The suspect then forced the victims to the back of the business where he sexually assaulted two female employees.  Colton Police Department Detectives responded and assumed the investigation.  The exact location of the crime and the victims’ identity are being withheld for the sexual assault victims’ privacy.

On 8/8/18 the Ontario Police Department notified Colton Detectives that they had a subject in-custody for an unrelated crime that matched the description of the robbery and sexual assault that occurred in Colton on 8/6/18.  With the assistance of the Ontario Police Department, additional evidence was obtained and on 8/13/18 David Pierre-Jones was arrested on various charges related to the robbery and sexual assault.

Surveillance video from a nearby business and Pierre-Jones’ booking photo are being released because investigators believe that Pierre-Jones may be responsible for similar crimes.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Colton Police Department, Detective Sidur at 909-370-5020.  Colton Police Department Dispatch 909-370-5000.
