Fundraiser for a Cancer Cure is being held on Saturday, April 28th, 9 am to 9 am Sunday, April 29th.

Held at Grand Terrace High School Stadium, 21810 Main St Grand Terrace, Ca. 92313. Saturday, April 28th 9 am cancer survivors step off their walk for a cure with their caregivers. This is Colton’s thirteenth year in the Relay for Life Walk for a cure. Colton High School stadium is under construction and our team is grateful to Grand Terrace for hosting us and making the event possible. (Per spokesperson Darlene Duron)

Last year, Colton passed the ONE MILLION DOLLAR mark in raising money for a cure. We are proud to be #10 per capital in our nation in this cause. Twenty-four hours is a lot of time to just walk. So within these twenty-four hours cancer survivors and caregivers can camp out. There will be 5 DJs (Disc Jockeys), special music, bands for entertainment, and things for kids to do as well.

There is no need to bring lunch for there are many food vendors to choose from. There will be fundraiser sale booths and drawings with prizes.

1 pm will be the Relays touching and significant Butterfly Release.

9 pm will be the Luminary Walk with the track line of white bags.

Illuminate with luminaries inscribed onto the bags with the names of those in the cancer fight praying for a cure soon to be found and those who could fight no longer.

After the walk the field lights will come on for safety so the walkers can continue walking until the last lap at 9 am; finishing up this cure for cancer battle in our fundraising fight. We are thankful and appreciate everything everyone has done to help out. Our team appreciates and is grateful for the staff members: Stephanie Granada Smith, Paul Luna, and Darlene Duron. We also appreciate and want to thank our host of volunteers, team leaders, and captains.
