Mayor's Weekly Message 72

By Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor of Moreno Valley
May 30, 2019 at 03:54pm. Views: 16

It is graduation season again!

As Mayor and a Moreno Valley educator, I understand the amount of hard work and dedication that students put forth to achieve success in higher education.

The City of Moreno Valley has implemented an incredible opportunity to help our graduates continue to succeed and obtain employment after graduation while continuing to help our local businesses thrive with our Hire a MoVal Grad program.

Hire a MoVal Grad makes it easier than ever for local businesses to earn incentives for hiring Moreno Valley residents who have recently graduated from college or vocational training.

Under the city’s Hire a MoVal Grad program, Moreno Valley businesses that hire recent college or technical/vocational school graduates can apply for a $1,000 stipend. Businesses can earn a $1,000 incentive for each new hire for up to five new hires.

Graduates must work a minimum of 20 hours per week for six months before businesses are eligible to apply for the Hire a MoVal Grad incentive. Moreno Valley businesses qualifying for a Hire a MoVal Grad stipend must be licensed by the City of Moreno Valley, and hire a Moreno Valley resident who has graduated or completed a specialized training program from an accredited college, university, vocational/technical school, or any other specialized training program within the past two years.

Hire a MoVal Grad is part of our award-winning Hire MoVal program, designed to help Moreno Valley residents find jobs with local employers. For more information on the program visit http://www.moreno-valley.ca.us/edd/hire-moval.html.

Congratulations Moreno Valley graduates and I wish you great success as you seek employment!
