Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association Presents Jeannine Savedra

The Loma Linda Cultural Arts Association will present Pasadena-based artist Jeannine Savedra at the monthly meeting, Sunday, August 5, 2018, in the Loma Linda Senior Center, from 2 pm until 4 pm.  Ms. Savedra, who works in oil, will inform attendees on her favorite techniques and materials, while she demonstrates her use of both.  The intimate setting for this presentation provides ample opportunity to converse with the artist as she paints.

Savedra’s credentials include formal training from Otis Art Institute, Parsons School of Design, and California State Los Angeles.  These undergraduate years preceded work experience as Studio Art instructor in the Visual Arts and Design Academy of Pasadena, a Master’s degree, and several years' teaching in the Pasadena school system. She continues to teach, both in her studio and at the Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre, California.

For 18 years, she has worked with Maurine Saint Gaudens Restoration Studio, repairing and restoring fine art for collectors, dealers and galleries, so that these may be exhibited in various Los Angeles-area museums.

Savedra’s work as exhibited on her website features impressionistic views that sweep across many aspects of California: the cities, trees, valleys, mountains--and the tiny settlements that nestle against their foothills.  These prove her to be as adept at plein air painting, as she is skillful in a studio setting.

The public is welcome to attend and enjoy this gathering.  The meeting takes place in the Loma Linda Senior Center (located at the southeast corner of the Loma Linda Civic Center complex), 25541 Barton Road, in Loma Linda.  There is no cost to LLU students; from community non-members, a $5.00 donation is requested.
