Redlands East Valley High School’s tennis team was recently presented with a $400 donation from the Redlands Racquet Club. The Redlands Racquet Club was founded in the year of 1963 with the objective to bring tennis awareness to children and adult athletes.

The vice president of RRC, Richard Blackey, presented the donation and a box of tennis balls to REVH’s coach and team. The team which consists of players; Ryan Duggin, Matthew Stark, Alex Strong, Jamie Mejia, Brenton Holbeck, Tyler Davis, and Bennie Milleder were excited to accept the generous donation in continuing the remainder of the three-month long tennis season.

This donation is aimed to encourage young tennis players to continue their dedication and hard work through school and sports. RRC donates a total of $250 each year to the tennis teams of Citrus Valley, Redlands, and Yucaipa high schools. The donation is also a great help for the tennis teams in acquiring equipment and fundraising trips and matches. RRC is a nonprofit organization that welcomes players of all skill levels and age groups to join their membership. The membership focuses on matching players by level in order to challenge and develop their skills. The development of tennis skills for players is focused on conducting annual tournaments to keep all members inspired and dedicated. The RRC board members work hard to keep the club running in the most beneficial way through fundraising and practice.

RRC is led by coach Erik Lundblad who is equipped with the certification of Professional Tennis Registry and teaches private lessons at the University of Redlands. Lundblad is in charge of conducting private lessons for tennis players as well as leading clinics. Tennis Clinics help in the development of basic and advanced racquet skills for competitions. Thanks to the donation of the RRC, the high school tennis team can continue in improving their competitive swings and matches.
