Leadership Not Politics

I intend to keep Grand Terrace the safest city in the Inland Empire. This is why my top priorities are to:

•Support economic development for increased revenue to ensure adequate police, fire and public safety presence.

•Support a more robust Citizen On Patrol, (C.O.P.), and Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT), dedicated to Grand Terrace.

•Push for the Michigan Street corridor upgrades including lights, sidewalks, storm drains, and partner with Colton to stabilize Mt. Vernon hill.

•Revitalization of the store fronts in our city’s center.

Road and infrastructure improvements are top safety issues.

Let’s revitalize our city’s center by working together with the owners and management of our established shopping centers at the Barton Road / Mt. Vernon intersection to improve and maintain appearances. I will listen to our business community and do my best to make Grand Terrace a more business friendly community and fill these empty buildings with shoppers. As a supporter of the Gateway project I believe, through balanced economic development and building strong relationships with our community partners, together we will move our city into the future confident in our long term financial stability.

Our great schools, sports leagues and service clubs offer our youth good opportunities for community engagement. I will work to develop a youth council which will address issues important for them and form partnerships with schools, business, government agencies and community service groups to create internship opportunities for our youth.

Parks and recreation opportunities are vital for healthy communities. As an avid horseman I am dedicated to preserving our parks and open spaces to maintain our rural appeal.

Our volunteers are the oil that keeps Grand Terrace running smoothly. Let’s work together to grow our C.O.P. volunteers for an increased presence of marked patrol cars dedicated to our city. I believe this will have a positive impact on our already low crime statistics. We also need to grow our CERT program so that we can be eligible for FEMA disaster aid.

My family came to Grand Terrace 19 years ago when I retired from the U.S. Army. Since then I’ve taught school, volunteered at the VA hospital, chair the San Bernardino County Veterans Advisory Committee, served for 5 years as your CERT director and 5 years as one of your planning commissioners.

I am not a real estate developer or RDA bureaucrat. Like you, I’m a Grand Terrace resident opposed to the constant attempt to put unfair tax hikes on our backs. I believe that by working together we will be able to pass on to future generations the same beautiful hometown passed on to us. This is our city. I will be your voice. I will stand up for all of us.

The leadership we need for a safe town with no wasteful spending.

Vote to elect Jeff Allen Grand Terrace City Council.
