In Memory of Edward Eugene DeMuth

Edward Eugene DeMuth, 88, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning December 19th, 2017. He was born in Tilden, Nebraska June 19th, 1929 to Nicholas and Catherine DeMuth. He lived in Elgin, Nebraska until moving his family to Southern California in 1957. He first lived in Colton and then settled in Highgrove.  In 2016 he moved to Mesa, Arizona where he resided until his passing.

He served his country during the Korean War as a medic, driving an ambulance for a MASH unit and was honorably discharged in 1953 with the rank of Sergeant. In California he worked 33 years for Stater Bros. Markets as a truck driver delivering groceries in the Los Angeles area. After retiring in 1991 he worked doing odd jobs for DeMuth Plumbing, owned by his son Danny.

Ed was active in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Riverside and Friends of Blue Mountain, working to preserve the wilderness around Blue Mountain near Grand Terrace, CA. He also loved hiking Blue Mountain. He was always hiking, whether it was with his daughters in Girl Scouts or hiking the Grand Canyon with his sons and Grandson when he was 68 years old. Ed enjoyed local square dancing and traveled many times to Arizona for dancing events.

Ed is survived by his loving family, his sons, Larry (Susan), Danny (Terrie), his daughters, Diana, LaRee (Tony) and Janice (Tony), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Dozler of Elgin, NE and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, youngest son James and his sister Mary Meis. 

 He was laid to rest in Elgin, Nebraska next to his parents.
