In Loving Memory Charlotte May Hancock

Charlotte May Hancock, daughter of Arthur and Mignon Soderblom, was born on December 4, 1924, in Pine Bush, New York as the fifth among seven children. Her younger years were mainly spent in New York State working as a bookkeeper. In 1951, she married Donald Keller. Together, they created what became a thriving business known as Maples Farm and Garden Center. Donald predeceased Charlotte. In 1971, Charlotte moved to California, specifically Yucaipa, where she resided until her death. Shortly after her move to California, she joined and remained a faithful member of the Calimesa Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1991, she married John Henry Hancock, ordained minister, youth leader and founder of the world church youth organization known as the “Pathfinders” (a similar organization as the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts of America). John and Charlotte lived together in Yucaipa until his death. Charlotte’s nickname was “Lollie.” Lollie was loved by so many people….always a person with a smile, always a giving & hospitable person, and always a congenial person that everyone loved being around. She was committed to God, to her family, to her Seventh-day Adventist faith and to her Calimesa church family. She went to sleep in the Lord on April 4, 2019, at the age of 94. She is survived by her two children, Lori Brown and Daniel Keller both of Middletown, New York, five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and her brother, Dr. Robert Soderblom who resides in Yucaipa. Her other siblings, Russell Soderblom, Dorothy Block, Ethel Detch, Grace Riley, and David Soderblom have pre-deceased her. Her memorial service will be held at the Calimesa Seventh-day Adventist Church on May 18, 2019, at 4 p.m. Her internment will be held at the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Redlands on May 17, 2019. Lollie will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
