Helping Them Help the Community

Option House, Inc. Is in need of your help!

Option house Inc. Has been providing a number of greatly needed services to victims of domestic violence, including emergency shelter, food and clothing, courthouse accompaniment, counseling, parenting classes, permanency planning, and more, since 1977. They are the only agency offering the specialized service in a 26 mile radius, and have been instrumental in saving and healing lives of many.

Domestic violence can be defined as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. Abuse is physical, sexual, emotional, economic, or psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. Domestic violence can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, economic class, migration status, religion, or gender.

Recently, their shelter suffered a major flood. Unfortunately, the damage has been so great, that it has made their 32-bed emergency shelter uninhabitable. Insurance will only cover a small portion of the water damage. The cost of restoration is estimated to be well over $80,000.

If they do not raise funds, they will have to close the shelter until repairs can be made. Their hope is that the women and children of their shelters will not have to experience another Trumatic event during the holiday season, when domestic violence is at its highest.

Open house, Inc. is confident that they can count on the community to assist them in pulling together any and all possible resources. How can they save an organization whose sole purpose is to provide safety and services to thousand each year? By believing and reaching out to their community.

Is there a vendor who can provide materials to complete the repairs? Are their volunteers who would let their expertise and labor to keep the cost down? Are there individuals or businesses that contribute monetarily?

Open house, Inc. believes that the community can pull together and make it happen. Only with your help can they achieve what is necessary. To do that, we must act now. If together, we can seize the moment and respond with the unity of purpose to face this challenge, we can make Option House one of the success stories of 2018. They never said it would be easy.

If you would like to assist in the effort of repairing Option House, Inc. please contact 909-383-1602 or email info@optionhouseinc.com.
