The city of Grand Terrace couldn’t have asked for a more glorious day to host Community Day, which was held on Saturday, June 1st, 2019, from 3-9 p.m., at Richard Rollins Park. It was a day to remember! Clear skies, a slight breeze, and bright shining sun set the atmosphere as families of Grand Terrace enjoyed food, fun and entertainment! The event kicked off with the Grand Terrace High School band, and included a stunning car show with vintage cars shined up and looking their best, as well as various booths featuring prize wheels, book giveaways, free candy, healthy treats and massages, helpful information, and much more. Live music by the GTHS Band, The Traveling Homeboys, and Ignite Worship filled the park and entertained the crowd throughout the day. Children were busy running from booth to booth playing games, winning prizes, jumping in the bouncer, participating in the potato sack race, and of course trying their best to win the watermelon eating contest! Miss Anaheim Hills and Miss East Riverside County as well as Princess Langston Sachs of Riverside City were in attendance as well! Hungry event goers were able to participate in Taste of Terrace, which was a sampling of food from local eateries such as Kaz Ramen, La Pasta Italia, Thai Kitchen, Sweet Life Bakery and of course, Woody's Classic Grill. The event MCs Jamie Sachs and Melinda Muganzo kept the crowd pumped and entertained as they watched various performances by The Cheer Factory, Dance Dimensions, REC Center Cheer, California Skate Inferno, Riverside Junction Swing Dancers, Habu Ewing Martial Arts Academy. This year there was even a mechanical bull riding contest to benefit one lucky non-profit! The event-filled day culminated with “Ralph Breaks the Internet” on the big screen for all to enjoy. Volunteers, city employees, and local talent all came together in unity to make this festive and fun day possible.
