ALL>> As June 16 nears, people everywhere are preparing for Father's Day, which will take place on Sunday, June 18.

In lieu of that, animal shelters all over are offering residents the chance to become a new kind of parent.

While Spring may be nearing an end, animal shelters are still dealing with the sudden increase in puppies and kittens that need homes.

On Thursday and Friday, June 15 and 16, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 and Saturday, June 17 between 10:30 to 3:30 The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter will hold its Annual "Father's Day" pet adoption event.

Residents and non-residents are invited to take home an already neutered dog or cat for a discounted price.

Dogs and puppies will be available for $50 while cats and kittens will be available for only 15.

The adoption will include a spay or neuter surgery, vaccines and HomeAgain microchips. All pets who have not been fixed will be altered on the same day and available to go to their new home the day of surgery.

The Moreno Valley Animal Shelter is located at 14041 Elsworth Street. For more information on the Father's Day event, call 951-413-3790.
