REDLANDS>> The community is invited to join the Redlands city council for coffee and conversations with council members on Saturday, March 11 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The Redlands City Council will resume their popular Coffee With the Council meetings with the first meeting of 2017 at the Redlands Community Center, 111 W. Lugonia Ave. The community has the opportunity to speak with Mayor Pro Tem Paul Barich and Council Member Eddie Tejeda who will be in attendance. Carl Baker, public information officer, said in a news release that Coffee With the Council began in February 2011 as part of the city’s continuing efforts to increase interaction with residents and promote transparency in City affairs. The informal meetings are scheduled quarterly from 9 to 10:30 a.m. as a way for residents to ask questions or share concerns outside the formal setting of a City Council meeting. The next Coffee With the Council meeting will be held June 10 at Stell Coffee & Tea Company, located at 1580 Barton Road, Suite A. In addition, council members will begin a new series of Walking With the Council meetings in April held along several of the city’s walking trails. The schedule for Walking With the Council is as follows: April 8 at the Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the trail and Grove Street; May 13 at the Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the trail and Redlands Boulevard, near California Street. Parking is available in the Walmart/Food for Less parking lot on the north side of Redlands Boulevard; July 8 at Orange Blossom Trail, beginning at the railroad trestle on the Orange Blossom Trail near Center/Texas Street and Redlands Boulevard; and Oct. 14 at the Santa Ana River Trail (future alignment), starting at Cave Street and Riverview Drive. Council members rotate attendance for both Coffee With the Council and Walking With the Council, with no more than two members at each meeting.
