Aquatics Training and Certification Classes 2016

SAN BERNARDINO >> Registration is now open for lifeguard training, water safety and lifeguard training instructor classes. The City of San Bernardino Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is currently accepting registrations for their upcoming Aquatics Training Programs. Classes are available for Lifeguard certification, "Water Safety Today" certification, and Lifeguard Training Instructor certification. Classes are offered now; space and class availability is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Some coursework is completed online. Also, applications for summer employment as Pool Manager, Senior Lifeguard, and Lifeguard (Swim Instructor) are available online for certified personnel. Lifeguard Training Classes are offered in three sessions with a swim test one week prior to the first date of each session. Full certification is accomplished by attending one(1) of the following two-week sessions: • Session #1: April 15, 16, 17, 22, and 23 • Session #2: May 6, 7, 8, 13, and 14 • Session #3: June 3, 4, 5, 10, and 11 The cost is $125.00 plus a $35.00 Authorized Provider Fee to the American Red Cross. There is no cost to take the swim test. Upon passing of the swim test, all fees are payable at the PRCSD Main Office. Non-residents add 10-percent fee on all classes. Times may vary, so please call for more information. Water Safety Classes are available one(1) Tuesday per month from March through May and resume again in September. The upcoming dates are April 5, and May 3, resuming on September 13. These classes are conducted indoors from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. The cost is $40.00 per individual and $60.00 for couples. One Lifeguard Training Instructor course has been scheduled for June 20-23, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. each day with a registration fee of $150.00.
