MORENO VALLEY>> On Tuesday, April 25, Panera Bread will host the book signing of "Olette: Death Child." The book was written by the late Jessica Corbett, who passed in Dec. 2014. Since then, her grandmother, Reatha Corbett, has been championing to fulfill her granddaughters wish of being published. The Corbetts have a long history with Panera Bread. The company stood by the family during a difficult time. Reatha Corbett describes Panera Bread as being like a family to her that cares about their employees and their community. Jessica Corbett first began writing "Olette: Death Child" when she was 9 years old. Olette was the first of many fantasy stories that Jessica wrote in her youth. After Jessica's death, her grandmother sought to fulfill her wish to become a published author. The publication of the book is a living legacy to Jessica's memory, her life, her imagination and love for fantasy, Corbett said, adding that she hopes the publication of this book will inspire other young adults to follow their dreams. “Olette: Death Child” By Jessica Corbett & Reatha Corbett, was published by LifeRich Publishing. The story is a science fantasy tale of a brave heroine named Olette, who is motivated by a deep hatred of her father, the desire to find the brother she never met, and the need to seek revenge for the death of her mother. The story was inspired by Jessica's interest in anime, manga and cosplay. "Olette" mixes Japanese inspired characters with Western-style fantasy and science-fiction influence. The story is action packed and filled with the message: The young have powers to change the future. The "Olette" book tour will take place on Saturday, April 22, at the Dollar Book Fair Bookstore inside the Moreno Valley Mall. A second book signing event will take place on Tuesday, April 25, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Panera Bread location on Day Street. For additional information contact Reatha Corbett, at (reathacorbett@msn.com) or call 909-518-9244.
