The Community Foundation is currently accepting online applications from nonprofits that would like to participate in Give BIG San Bernardino County.

Nonprofits are encouraged to register now to take advantage of all the benefits the Give Big San Bernardino County campaign provides such as training in the use of social media, cultivating relationships with donors, developing a communications plan, and raising much-needed funds from online donors.

The 24-hour online event, which will be held at www.givebigsbcounty.org, is designed to generate funding for nonprofits in the county while building a culture of philanthropy and giving throughout the community. On Nov. 28, donors are encouraged to go online and give to their favorite local causes and charities and celebrate their donations on social media using #GiveBIGSBCounty.

Since inception, Give BIG San Bernardino County has raised $1 million for local nonprofits. Last year, 3,342 unique donors gave to more than 100 nonprofits totaling $271,044, surpassing the 2015 total of $241,217.

To register, nonprofits must have one year of nonprofit 501(c) (3) status, have a physical location within the county of San Bernardino zip codes, or provide itinerant services in the county of San Bernardino. National nonprofits are welcome if a local chapter serves in the county of San Bernardino.

Registration is available now at www.givebigsbcounty.org. To learn more about the campaign and upcoming trainings, visit Give BIG San Bernardino County on Facebook/givebigsbcounty and Twitter @givebigsbcounty. For assistance, call The Community Foundation at 951.241.7777.

Thanks to funding and support from the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and the contributions of generous sponsors, Give Big San Bernardino County is providing valuable training to nonprofits. These online donations provide critical funding to help nonprofits in San Bernardino County not only address poverty but also other challenges the county residents face in the areas of education, health, the environment, public safety, family and youth services.
