Crafton Hills College will be able to provide increased opportunities to veterans and students in the first responder programs after receiving a grant from Bank of America.

“We want to thank Bank of America for the $10,000 grant they awarded Crafton Hills College. The funds will be used to increase services in the Veterans Resource Center and to help students in the EMT, paramedic and fire programs,” said Michelle Riggs, director of community relations and resource development.

Crafton Hills College was one of eleven local agencies to receive funding from Bank of America.

“Access to basic needs and career development resources can make a major difference in easing the civilian transition for veterans,” said Al Arguello, Inland Empire Market President for Bank of America. “Bank of America is committed to working with organizations that put those who have served on the path to economic self-sufficiency.”

“It’s local support like this that benefit our students and ensure their academic success,” said Sam Irwin, past president of the CHC Foundation. “Our goal is to make an impact in our community by helping students graduate,” he said.

Bank of America made the check presentations at its San Bernardino branch during a short ceremony on Tuesday, June 19.

Crafton Hills College will be providing more opportunities to veterans and students in its first responder programs after receiving a $15,000 grant from Bank of America.

“Our veteran population will benefit from increased academic and personal counseling because of Bank of America,” said Joe Cabrales, dean of student services and student development. “This critical funding will help our student vets as they pursue their educational dreams.”

In addition to the Veterans Resource Center, funding will also go towards the students in public safety programs, “providing equipment and supplies they need to complete their certificate program and enter the workforce,” said Michelle Riggs, director of community relations and resource development.

Crafton Hills College was one of eleven local agencies to receive funding from Bank of America.

According to Cathy Paredes, vice president of community relations at Bank of America, “Providing support to organizations and programs that help our military veterans more easily transition into civilian life and careers – such as Crafton Hills College’s Veterans Resource Center  - is just one of the ways the bank works with local partners to help make financial lives better.”

Bank of America made the check presentations at its San Bernardino financial center during a short ceremony on Tuesday, June 25.
