On December 14 and 15, the Inland Master Chorale presents “Home for the Holidays” at the First United Methodist Church at 1 East Olive Avenue in Redlands.
This concert of seasonal favorites also provides an opportunity for audience members to join in on a holiday singalong.
Traditional Christmas carols featured are Deck the Halls, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Wassail Song, Silent Night, and Fum, Fum, Fum!
Modern classics include White Christmas, Sweet Little Jesus Boy, and Home for the Holidays. Other concert selections are the Spanish carol A La Nanita Nana, and the Hebrew song Bashana Haba’ah. A lively Nigerian carol, Betelehemu will be accompanied by drums and tambourines.
The 80-member Chorale is under the direction of Dr. Joseph Modica, Interim Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Director of the School of Music at the University of Redlands. Assistant Director Anna DeLeon is Director of Choirs at Grand Terrace High School. Accompanist is Sophie Tait.
Concerts begin at 8 pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and $10 for students and children. Children under five are not admitted. Tickets are available in advance from Chorale members, at www.inlandmasterchorale.org, or by phone, 909-798-4462.
The Chorale’s 40th Anniversary season continues with Vox Populi: Songs of Our World on March 21-22; and Carmina Burana on May 17.
