MORENO VALLEY>> With a family recipe that was passed on for generations, a new business is using only organic ingredients and utilizing local farmer’s markets to make one-of-a-kind products. Whether men or woman are looking for the perfect exfoliator, mask or moisturizer, Patty Del Mar strives to show their customers how natural their products are by making them right on the spot. Gisselle Munoz, co-founder of Patty Del Mar, said the ingredients in the products are organic and include family recipes that have been passed on since the 1800s. “We don’t have any chemicals in our products, which makes our products very safe,” Munoz said. “Either way, you shower with soap. With our products, your skin is eating (nutrients). Every time your pores open, it is eating off of something that is healthy like antioxidants and vitamin C.” Although the family began making the products for friends and family, Munoz said her family felt like the health and beauty market was lacking products for men and would often find that men would have to use women’s products for the healthy, organic and clean feel. The family began making their products for men that were simple to use and clean. Munoz said women wanted to use it too, so the family decided to make the products that could be used for both men and women. The family of five, including Munoz’ mother, Patty Munoz, and three brothers, Joey, Noe, and Giovanny Munoz, started their business in Corona Del Mar in 2013. Later, Noe joined the air force, and their family moved to the Inland Empire and brought their business to the city. “I had never even heard of Moreno Valley until my brother joined the air force,” Munoz said. “We realized Moreno Valley was struggling a little so we asked ‘how can we help?’” On July 31, Patty Del Mar had their grand opening ceremony at their kiosk named “Joey’s Rose” in the Moreno Valley Mall, in which Munoz said was good turnout. Munoz said they care about supporting the local economy and using local ingredients from farmer's markets in the area. “We like to support the locals,” Munoz said. “This is their local skincare and we really believe in Moreno Valley coming together.” With a goal of educating customers about health and wellness, Munoz said Patty Del Mar works to help customers feel great. Munoz said the products work great for all skin types, including those who may have acne or eczema. While the products are based on the ingredients available in the seasons, Patty Del Mar offers a variety of products including a one-time use of organic and natural face cleanser for $5. Munoz said they also specialize in an organic avocado mask, as well as a chocolate mask. Joey’s Rose by Patty Del Mar is located in the Moreno Valley Mall at 22500 Town Circle, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 and is open every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
