Although over a week before Christmas, the E. Neal Roberts Elementary School got in the Christmas spirit and spread it throughout the community at their Winter Program Thursday, Dec. 17. At about 9 a.m. that Thursday morning, proud parents, siblings, grandparents, and San Bernardino community members gathered at the elementary school forming a line to enter the cafeteria, where the program was held. Due to the recent attack on Dec. 2 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, the staff was being extra cautious and asked for all attendees, including family members, to sign in to receive a "Visitors" pass before entering the school's campus. "We're so happy to see so many people attending but we want to make sure everyone is safe," Principal of E. Neal Roberts Elementary Beatriz Gonzalez said. The sixth graders kicked off the holiday program by singing "Feliz Navidad." They concluded their performance by handing out candy canes to every member in the audience. The second graders took the stage and sang "Sleigh Ride." The fifth graders took it away with the funny tune "Chocolate in my Stocking." The third graders wowed the crowd as well as the fourth graders with their modified version of "Jingle Bells." The lyrics gave the crowd a chuckle as they sang, "Jingle all the way, oh what fun even though we have no snow in Californ-I-A", while wearing red and green sunglasses. The final performance was the Kindergartners. Their creative side showed as they got the crowd to sing a long with them.
