RPD Officers and Civilian Personnel Honored for Dec. 2 Response

REDLANDS >> Redlands Police officers, dispatchers, and support personnel joined personnel from other agencies Thursday, April 14, when the San Bernardino Police Department hosted a multi-agency awards ceremony to recognize the various department members who responded to the Inland Regional Center terrorist attack on Dec. 2, 2015. Members of the San Bernardino Police Department, California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino City Fire, Redlands Police Department (RPD), Fontana Police Department, San Bernardino Unified School District Police, Rialto Police Department, Colton Police Department and San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department and Probation Department received honors from their respective agencies. Among those recognized were RPD’s first responders and dispatchers, who were presented with the following service medals: Medals of Valor were awarded to Officer Joseph Aguilar and Sgt. Andy Capps for the bravery they exhibited on Dec. 2. Officers Daniel Gonzales, Mathias Knudsen, and Jonathan Manly were recognized with Police Cross Medals for their actions. For providing valuable service to the department in a duty of great responsibility and of critical importance beyond normal demands, Cpl. Kelli Bishop, Officer Patrick Estrada, Sgt. Jeremy Floyd, Officer Ryan Steinhaus, dispatcher Jenna Heusterberg, Community Service Officer Kimberly Howard, dispatcher Kathryn Ramirez and operations manager Shayna Walker were presented with the department’s Meritorious Service Medal for their performance.
