Open auditions for LifeHouse Theater’s original musical, “Treasure Island,” directed by Jeffrey A. DeWitt, will be Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at LifeHouse Theater, 1135 N. Church Street, Redlands.

Auditions will be held on a first come-first served basis.  Roles are open for men and women.  Men are especially encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should bring a theatrical resume and a recent photo to leave with the audition panel.   Those without a photo may have a picture taken at the auditions for a $2 fee. This is a high action, physical show with only one role for a child.  Those auditioning must be in good health.  Boys aged 10 - 14 will only be considered for the role of Jim Hawkins.  We ask that any others auditioning be older than 16 years of age or be able to look older.

Auditioners should also bring their own sheet music in the preferred key, and be prepared to sing a short selection of about 16 measures.  A pianist will be provided but will not be able to transpose any sheet music.  Auditions with CDs will not be accepted.  Those without sheet music will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday” with the accompanist.

“Treasure Island” opens Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 7:30 PM and will continue on weekends through June 9, 2019.  Performances are Fridays at 7:00 PM, Saturdays at 2:00 PM (except Opening Night) and 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.  In addition to the weekend performances, there will be a special weekday performance at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

The action-packed musical, written by writer-producer Wayne R. Scott with renowned film and stage composers Jason and Nolan Livesay, contains all the memorable elements of the novel and a few added surprise twists.  Intrigue combines with double crosses, a treasure chest, swashbuckling sword fights and the unraveling of mysterious secrets to make this an unforgettable theater experience for all ages.  Modern critics routinely hail Robert Louis Stevenson’s immortal classic “Treasure Island” as literature’s greatest adventure tale.  Our own production has met with critical acclaim and is an audience favorite.

LifeHouse Theater is a service organization devoted to serving the Inland Empire through the performing arts.
