Auditions For A Christmas Carol

The Grove Theatre announces open auditions for its upcoming production of A Christmas Carol.

This is the classic tale of miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, and his miraculous transformation brought about by ghostly visitations on Christmas Eve. Performed with highly stylized theatricality, this production breathes new life into the well-known tale. Producer-Sherry Kinison. Director-Gregory Cohen.

ALL ROLES ARE OPEN. All ethnicities welcome.

Open call SUNDAY OCTOBER 6TH 1 – 4 PM

CALLBACKS: MONDAY OCTOBER 7TH, 7 – 9 PM 

REHEARSALS - Begin October 12th @ 12pm and run the months OF OCTOBER/NOVEMBER, (no rehearsals during Halloween or Thanksgiving Holidays)

This is a non-equity production looking for the following characters: 

SCROOGE (M 50s-70s) Mean old miser

BOB CRATCHIT (M 20s-40s) Scrooge’s mild-mannered clerk

FRED HOLLOWELL (M 20s-30s) Scrooge’s kind and loving nephew

JACOB MARLEY (M 40s-70s) Scrooge’s partner, now a ghost

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST (M or F teens to 20s) Elfin-like spirit

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT (M or F 30s-50s) Powerful Father/Mother Christmas type spirit

PLAYER #1 (M 30s-50s) to play Jeeves, Fezziwig, Broker #1, and Old Joe

PLAYER #2 (M 20s-30s) to play Howell, Young Scrooge, Broker #2, Mr. Tackleton the undertaker, and Thomas

PLAYER #3 (M 8-13) to play Tiny Tim and Ebenezer as a boy

PLAYER #4 (F 10-15) to play Fan, Belinda Cratchit, Boy

PLAYER #5 (F 16-early 20s) to play Belle, Martha Cratchit, Janet Hollowell, Mrs. Dilber, and Caroline

PLAYER #6 (F 30s-60s) to play Mrs. Fezziwig, Mrs Cratchit, Mrs. Oliver, and Poulterer

CAROLERS (M & F) - 4 classic Dickensian Carolers to sing throughout production and in a concert following the play

All cast members MUST be able to do a believable British accent. 

All “Players” must be able to do believable varying characters.

Carolers prepare a classic Christmas Carol to be sung acapella.
