Arson Arrest Made by Cal Fire

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers arrested Brandon N. Mc Glover, 32, of Temecula for allegedly setting multiple fires in southwest Riverside County on July 25, 2018. One of the fires McGlover allegedly started is the Cranston Fire, which is actively burning on Federal land in the San Jacinto Ranger District, and is currently 4,700 acres with zero percent containment. Evacuation orders are in place for hundreds of residents. Five residential structures have been destroyed. The Cranston Fire is under Unified Command between the USFS San Bernardino National Forest, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department, Idyllwild Fire Protection District and the Riverside County Sheriffs Office. 

Mc Glover was transported to Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta, where he was booked on the following charges: 

•         PC 451( c ) - Five counts of arson to wildland

Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues. 

On July 25, 2018, Firefighters from the USFS San Bernardino National Forest, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department and several local public safety agencies responded to a series of wildland fires. The fires occurred in several areas within Southwest Riverside County and Federal areas along State Highway 74 in the San Bernardino National Forest. 

CAL FIRE Peace Officers determined a suspect description and issued a crime bulletin to other local law enforcement agencies. Based on the crime bulletin issued, the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force located and detained Mc Glover.

CAL FIRE Peace Officers took Mc Glover into custody in Hemet. 

Additional information will be released as the investigation continues.
