This past Monday Arrowhead Regional Medical Center celebrated its 20th anniversary. The ceremony included members of the community, Colton Mayor Frank Navarro, and many more. “We have the right people, dedicated to the most important thing,” says ARMC hospital director, William Gilbert. ARMC’s most strived for goal, quality patient care. The hospital continues to work together and with its patients to provide the best it can in medical care.

This special occasion recognized the past 20 years of service and dedication by the facility, volunteers, and by its staff. District five Supervisor Josie Gonzales was also in attendance for this great occasion. She spoke of her own experience at ARMC and how the staff and care provided to her was able to give her a healthy and mobile life after walking out of there. “This is a project that continues to grows, no bounds, no measures,” explained Supervisor Gonzales as she continued to speak about the growth that the medical center has had and will continue to have.

Gonzales presented a plaque to ARMC on behalf of San Bernardino County and its board of Supervisors, “That you might find as time goes by and look back that there was a point where we came together for the 20th anniversary and we celebrated it with God’s grace.”

Colton’s newest Mayor Frank Navarro also spoke to those who came to celebrate. “Colton has a commitment to you,” Navarro says as he explains the important of ARMC in the city.

ARMC opened its doors in March of 1999 accepting their first patient who was a 50-year old gentleman from Twentynine Palms. During its first opening hours the hospital received a total of 148 patients, including 20 critical or burn patients, are transported during 130 ambulance runs. The first baby, born to a mother from Fontana, is born just after 4 p.m.

ARMC is a state-of-the-art 456-bed facility featuring the newest technology in the field of patient care. The hospital has grown immensely since it first opened. It has added floors, countless beds have been included in the expansion, and it continues to welcome its patients from all over and plans to do so for many more years to come.
