REDLANDS>> The self-described “deplorables” who campaigned for President-Elect Donald Trump will gather Thursday, Dec. 15 in Mentone for a “Make Christmas Great Again” party. “We will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and a new birth of freedom and hope in America,” the Redlands Tea Party Patriots announced. The Dec. 15 Christmas celebration replaces the monthly meeting of the Redlands Tea Party Patriots, whose meetings are customarily held the first Thursday of each month at the Mill Creek Cattle Co., 1874 Mentone Blvd, Mentone. The evening includes a Christmas message from an actor portraying President George Washington, as well as a video from Former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Newt Gingrich describing Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River on Christmas 1776. The Unite Inland Empire radio show will record the evening for a Dec. 17 broadcast on AM 590. The evening also includes Christmas carols and karaoke singing. Christmas gift proceeds will be donated to local veterans organizations. In addition, a 94-year-old World War II bombardier and a Vietnam veteran, known for his patriotic artwork, will be honored. Leaders from Young Americans for Freedom will be recognized as special guests. The Christmas party begins at 7 p.m. at the Mill Creek Cattle Company. Tickets are available at EventBrite.com by searching for RTPP Christmas 2016 or by going to https://rtpp-christmas-2016.eventbrite.com. Tickets are $20 now through Monday, Dec. 12 and will be $25 after Dec. 12. Admission will also include two drinks and appetizers. The party is a joint effort between the Redlands Tea Party Patriots and the Unite IE Conservative.
