San Bernardino, CA – November 27, 2017 – Dignity Health - St. Bernardine Medical Center (SBMC) announced the appointment of Kurt Weinmeister as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Weinmeister will have strategic and operational oversight of all hospital operations to advance the strategic goals of the organization. Weinmeister has served in health care executive roles for more than 30 years and brings significant experience with leading system-wide initiatives. In some of his previous roles, he created cultures of quality and safety while maintaining fiscal discipline.

“We are honored to have Weinmeister take on this critical role at SBMC,” states SBMC President Douglas Kleam. “His passion and experience will help enhance existing programs and services for the patients we serve in the San Bernardino community. Furthermore he brings an impressive track record of leadership in health care project management and operations.”

Most recently, Weinmeister served as the Chief Executive Officer at San Dimas Community Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare Services. Weinmeister oversaw the daily operations of a 387-bed tertiary care hospital with one of the busiest trauma centers (Level II) and largest maternity services (over 5,000 deliveries/year) in the Los Angeles area.

"I look forward to the opportunity to join the outstanding team at SBMC as we continue to deliver quality care to patients,” says Weinmeister. “I’m excited to build on the hospital’s successes and further its mission to serve the San Bernardino community with excellence and compassion.”

Weinmeister earned a Master of Hospital and Health Care Administration from St. Louis University and a Bachelor Degree in American History from University of Illinois. In addition, he has a Certificate in Health Care Financial Planning from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
