A One of a Kind Invitation

Chocolate covered strawberries, cherry cordials, candy covered caramel anything and everything, fragrant roses in all colors and varieties, necklaces, rings and anything that blings, heartfelt cards and notes professing love of every level are flying off the shelves in hopes that they please the eye and warm the heart of the loved one. Florists are flooded with calls and orders as heart-shaped balloon bouquets designed to brighten someone’s day are being delivered throughout the day. It’s that time of year again where love is in the air; those that have crushes are gathering courage to expose their true feelings, and couples-young, old, married, or dating, endeavor to find the most delicious meal around for their “sweetheart.”

Yes, you guessed it, Valentine’s Day is upon us and local eateries are filling up with reservations as we speak (or read). This is the season where the best cuisine in our local restaurants is on display as top-notch chefs put their hearts on a plate to impress you and your beloved. Many seasoned couples have come to the realization that love should be a daily expression with thoughts, actions, special dinners, notes, and gestures. As is such, they have begun to delight in the seasonal deals and specials in the wisest of ways. For example, overcrowding and over reserving seats in eateries leads to frustration and thwarting of even the most finely-tuned Valentine’s Day dining experience. As an alternative, one might try to skip the hustle and bustle of February 14th, the actual Valentine holiday and treat your “sweets” to that something special a few days beforehand or even in the days to follow.

Many wise restaurants are mindful that they won’t be able to comfortably accommodate every one of their patrons on that single day. Especially if it is their regular custom to have the utmost and attentive customer service, the extra attention it takes to give patrons the ultimate dining experience often will get lost in the hurry to turn over tables. In their cleverness, they have begun to offer alternative extended days and times to draw in more clientele which gives them the ability to dole out all the bells and whistles to make the occasion as special as it was intended to be.

Woody’s Classic Grill, located in the heart of Grand Terrace, is one such restaurant catering to the sweethearts not only on February 14th, but on a daily basis. Mike and Lori Miller, owners of Woody’s would like to invite you to bring your special ones out for a taste of love. Chef Miguel will put his talent on display by serving up a delectable meal especially planned and prepped by him and his talented team of professionals in the kitchen. Food lovers will have their choice of either the classic Woody’s menu or the Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Menu, courteously extended from Thursday, February 14th through Sunday, February 16th.

The latter consists of a 4 course dinner beginning with petite shrimp cocktail served up fresh, and your choice of a robust soup or crisp deliciously-blended, green salad. For the entree, Chef Miguel has lined up a winning selection to satisfy even the most particular of palates. Diners will have their choice of Chicken Oscar baked to perfection topped with tender crab and asparagus, slow roasted prime rib, beautifully marbled with fat (this roast is rich, juicy, and tender), for the lighter fare, a dip on the Asian side with Miso Salmon, or the timeless classic sizzling steak and succulent lobster. All this delicious goodness will be starting at $16.99. And to bring the experience full circle, lovebirds of all kinds will top off the meal by enjoying a French classic, petite crème brulee, with vanilla bean and caramelized sugar.

After an experience in food like this, a romantic walk (if the night isn’t too chilly), a relaxing movie, a game or two of bowling, or even some cozy snuggling by a warm fire would be a great end to any night. The best experience is one enjoyed on any day, not just a holiday! For those of you who still like to plan ahead for that special someone in your life, make your reservations today! Woody’s is located at 22400 Barton Rd Unit 1 Grand Terrace, and can be easily reached at (909) 422-1100.
