The Redlands Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Ransom Wilson, will perform A Classical Christmas, a concert celebrating the joys of the holiday season in music and song on Saturday, December 14th. The Symphony performs in Memorial Chapel on the campus of the University of Redlands. The concert begins at 8 PM. Doors open at 7 PM and there will be a pre-concert talk at 7:15. Single tickets begin at $18.

The program includes RESPIGHI’S Three Botticelli Pictures, BRITTEN’S Men of Goodwill, TCHAIKOVSKY’S Suite from The Nutcracker, and DUKE ELLINGTON and BILLY STRAYHORN’S Jazzy Nutcracker Suite. Broadway vocalists, Debbie Prutsman and Jordan Goodsell, will end the program with a Christmas Sing-Along featuring traditional holiday favorites.

“The holiday season wouldn’t seem right without the festive strains of Christmas music in the air,” according to Maestro Wilson. “Our holiday program this year is a little different than you might find elsewhere. For one thing, we’re offering two versions of the Nutcracker; the traditional one by TCHAIKOVSKY and a jazzy interpretation by the great DUKE ELLINGTON. It’s going to be a night of musical celebration you and your family are certain to enjoy.”

The holiday concert is sponsored by a generous gift from Ann and Vaughn Bryan.

Pick-4 subscription starting at $61.20 are still available and make a perfect holiday gift. Single tickets start at just $18. Details about subscriptions and single tickets are available at www.redlandssymphony.com or by calling the box office at 909-587-5565. Tickets may also be purchased at the box office on the night of the concert or at the symphony office located at 112 E. Olive Avenue Suite C in Redlands.
