REDLANDS >> The Redlands Community Orchestra concludes its season with an all-Mozart concert at 3 p.m May 22 at Redlands High School’s Clock Auditorium. The performance will feature vocal soloists Jordan Otis and Justin Brunette singing duets and arias from "The Magic Flute" and "Don Giovanni." The concert will also include Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter” and the overture to "The Marriage of Figaro." The concert will be conducted by James Benanti and is free of charge and family friendly. No tickets are necessary. Performance highlights include: Performance Reimagined (OperaWorks), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina), The Merry Widow (Hannah), Into the Woods (Little Red), and soloing with the East Tennessee Symphony Orchestra. Jordan Otis, mezzo-soprano, holds a M.M. in Vocal Performance from University of Redlands and a B.M. Music Education from Southern Adventist University. Experienced in many musical genres, she provides professional princess character entertainment in Southern California. Not only a performer, Jordan is also a private voice and violin instructor and music teacher at The Grove School in Redlands, CA. Jordan believes music is a gift from God and is so blessed to sing for Him every day. Justin Brunette, baritone, has just completed his Bachelor’s degree in vocal performance at the University of Redlands where he has held leading roles in performances of The Barber of Seville and La Boheme and provided audition assistance during School of Music Audition Day concerts. He has a reputation for dedication, energy, and audience-pleasing performances. Approximately 50 musicians of all ages will play string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments in the concert. The concert is sponsored by the Redlands High School Instrumental Music Department. The Redlands Community Orchestra was founded in September 2013 as an outlet for amateur musicians in the Redlands area to play orchestral music together for fun. It is an independent, all-volunteer nonprofit community organization that is devoted to sharing the joy of music making, engaging their audience, and enriching the cultural life of their community through artistic expression. More information about the Redlands Community Orchestra is available online at www.redlandscommunityorchestra.org.
