COLTON >> With a population of more than 53,000 people in the city of Colton, the Colton Chamber of Commerce offers a Chamber membership to residents and businesses to help businesses prosper. The Chamber of Commerce seeks to help businesses stay informed about the city and business community through special events while also expanding the local economy. Membership benefits include special events and mixers, marketing opportunities, networking events, business assistance, a bi-monthly newsletter, discounts, a membership plaque and more. This year, the Colton Chamber of Commerce celebrated a successful Golf Classic at the Arrowhead Country Club and the 2016 Tri-City Mega Mixer held at Ashley Furniture. The annual Tri-City Mega Mixer was in conjunction with Colton, Grand Terrace and Loma Linda chambers of commerce and featured local vendor booths that displayed their specific products and gave out information and promotional items. Along with refreshments and raffle prizes, attendees were able to network with one another and learn more about the local businesses. "This event brings us all together," said James Ramos, County Board of Supervisors Chairman, in a previous interview with City News Group. "We share the common cause of moving the economy forward and supporting small business." In a previous interview with City News Group, Monique Guerrero, a division leader with Park Lane Jewelry, a home-based business, and a member of the Colton Chamber of Commerce, said she enjoyed the event and appreciated the support of the Colton Chamber of Commerce. "We love being with (the Chamber)," Guerrero said in a previous article. "They are always very supporting of home-based businesses, as well as brick and mortar businesses." Other events available to members include the Annual Installation Awards Luncheon, the Annual Christmas in the Park & Parade and business luncheons with featured speakers. To learn more about the membership, individuals are invited to enjoy a cup of coffee and attend the monthly networking meeting every first Tuesday of the month at 8 a.m. in the Colton Chamber of Commerce office. The annual membership fees for the membership start at $50 for an individual membership and $100 for a home-based business. Financial institutions, public utility companies, churches, community and nonprofit organizations are also welcome to join as member. To apply to be a member, individuals can fill out an application on the website or download the application to turn it in to the office. The Colton Chamber of Commerce is located at 655 North La Cadena Drive in Colton, California.
