On Monday, Nov. 7, the Grand Terrace Woman's Club decorated their beautiful Christmas tree with silver and burgundy ornaments, trimmed with burgundy and silver netting. The tree is on display at Innovations Hair Salon, located at 22400 Barton Rd No. 22 in Grand Terrace. Every year for several years, the Grand Terrace Club decorates a Christmas tree and raffles it off just in time for Christmas. The community is welcome to purchase tickets at the salon for $1 each or they can ask any Grand Terrace Woman's Club member to purchase a ticket. Club members will be happy to provide as many tickets as needed. Gifts from local organizations are placed under the tree that are also up for raffle as well. All proceeds will go to charity so the Grand Terrace Woman's Club can help other local organizations in Grand Terrace. The drawing for the raffle will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14 and the winner will be notified by phone so they can pick up the tree and take it home for the Christmas season. This year, Claire Kidd, club member and Grand Terrace resident is serving as the Christmas Tree Chairman. The tree was decorated by Kidd and members Yolanda Navarro, Adele Lara and Lexi Schleim. The Grand Terrace Woman's Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at 11 a.m. Azure Hills SDA Church, located at 22633 Barton Road in Grand Terrace. The meeting includes lunch and is followed by an educational or entertaining program. The purpose of the club is to promote education, industrial, philanthropic, literacy, artistic and scientific culture. "We are women of all ages, interests and experience and a member of the largest and oldest non-profit, non-denominational, non-partisan, international service organizations of women in the world," the Grand Terrace Woman's Club website states.
