The Veterans Wall of FREEDOM board is pleased to announce the delivery of the Veterans Wall of Freedom Monument to Pico Park on Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at 8 a.m. The monument will be delivered from the Quick Crete fabrication facility to Pico Park and installed in the park. Those who are interested in seeing the arrival, the monument will be delivered by truck. Best viewing locations for the delivery will be the East side of Michigan to see the front side of the monument. The Veterans Wall of Freedom is a unique tribute to America’s Veterans. This monument proudly spells out the word FREEDOM in large concrete letters. Each letter stands six-feet tall and six to eight feet wide, with a total length of approximately 60 feet. On each of the letters, veterans or their families will be able to have a space honoring the veteran’s service. There will be a total of over 1,600 spaces for veterans’ plaques. The Veterans Wall of Freedom Project started in 2011 with the idea for building a monument for veterans, families of veterans and the community. With hard work and vision from the committee members and the generosity of the community and community leaders, the project has gone from an idea to reality. The Veterans Wall of Freedom project will become a reality this year with the unveiling of the monument will taking place on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. For information on the Veterans Wall of Freedom, browse to VeteransWallofFreedom.org, or contact Jim McNaboe at Jim@McNaboe.net. The Veterans Wall of Freedom project is a committee of the Foundation of Grand Terrace (501(c)3).
