Shortly before the holidays, Niagara Bottling, LLC presented Stater Bros. Charities with a generous gift – a $100,000 donation earmarked for the Annual Believe Walk effort, next set for Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, in downtown Redlands. Niagara Bottling has served as the Believe Walk presenting sponsor since its inception in 2008. This annual grassroots event engages nearly 12,000 participants, donors and sponsors Southern California wide and has donated over $3 million to the fight against all cancers. The funds raised through the Believe Walk are donated to support local cancer centers and cancer-fighting organizations throughout the Inland Empire. Every August, Niagara bottles one million cases of 24 and 35-pack half liter water bottles with a specially designed pink label exclusive to Stater Bros. Markets. Branded with the Stater Bros. name, the bottles are distributed to the company’s 168 stores in September and October as a way of celebrating National Cancer Awareness Month. And Niagara can also be counted on to rally their team members for a strong showing on walk day. In 2015, they were one of the largest teams with 90 participants of all ages, fully prepared to take on the course and enjoy the day, despite the sudden downpour. “The Believe Walk wouldn’t be the success that it is without the generous support from our vendor community, like Niagara,” commented Pete Van Helden, Stater Bros. Market’s president and chief executive officer. “Their long-standing support provides more than just critical, lifesaving services to patients in the midst of their battle. Niagara’s involvement gives hope and encouragement to all who are walking the journey with them.”
