Homicide – Update 2

 

Date:              May 4, 2017             

           

Time:             7:44 AM 

 

From:             Corporal Ray Mendez 

 

Suspects:     Unknown

 

Location:      300 Block of East Valley Blvd, Colton CA

 

Victim:          Oscar Hernandez, 37 years of age, Colton CA

 

Case:            17-02960     

Summary:                

On May 4th at approximately 7:44 AM Colton Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Valley Boulevard in the City of Colton in reference to a man down call.  Officers immediately responded to the area and found a Hispanic Male Adult suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper chest area.  The victim was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds. 

 

The victim has been identified as Oscar Hernandez, 37 years of age.  Hernandez was a transient who frequented the Colton area.  Prior to the shooting Hernandez was seen in a vehicle which is believed to be a 1992 to 1998 Ford Aerostar Van, green with a brown or tan stripe on the bottom, no hub caps and an obvious dent to the rear passenger side (between the wheel well and rear bumper).  See attached photo.

 

Investigators are seeking any information on Hernandez’s whereabouts during the two days leading up to his death; or any witnesses or information to the shooting.

 

A reward may be available for information leading to the identification of a suspect.
