Cal State San Bernardino’s College of Extended Learning will once again offer summer session classes to help students get ahead and stay on track for graduation. Open registration runs May 21 through June 5. Summer session starts June 24 and runs through Sept. 9. This summer at CSUSB, students will have opportunities to get ahead F.A.S.T.: • Financial aid – Additional financial aid will be available to qualifying students. • Access to high-demand courses – Offering the courses students need to get ahead or to stay on track for graduation. • Savings on tuition – Same classes at a lower price when taking 4 or 8 units. • Timely graduation – By taking advantage of summer session, students will move faster toward their graduation goals. Courses are open to current Cal State San Bernardino students and those who have been accepted for fall 2015. In addition, students who attend other colleges and universities and are looking to take courses during the summer are also eligible to earn credits toward graduation during the summer session at CSUSB. By planning early, students can work with their home institution to identify courses that will transfer back into their degree program. “Students really should consider taking advantage of all of the opportunities that are available in the summer to get ahead or back on track toward graduation,” said CSUSB Provost Andrew Bodman. “This is particularly valuable for new students who need to take a remedial course so they don’t have to do so during the regular academic year. And the campus is less crowded during the summer, so it is easier for returning students who want to re-take a course or couldn’t get a class earlier in the year.” Current Cal State San Bernardino students can register for courses online via MyCoyote. Early Summer Starter applications are available for new students who have been admitted for fall 2015 at CSUSB. Students visiting home for the summer from community colleges and other universities may register through CSUSB’s College of Extended Learning Open University Program. Registration for visiting summer students begins May 21. For more information on how to register for summer session courses, visit the summer session website at http://cel.csusb.edu/summer. The regular 10-week summer session begins June 24 and ends Sept. 3. Students can choose to participate in accelerated six-week sessions, which take place at two intervals, June 24 through July 30 and August 3 through Sept. 9. For more information, contact Jane Payne at 909-537-3978 or visit summer.csusb.edu.
