The Grand Terrace Woman’s Club partnered up with not one but two different tattoo parlors for their annual Toys for Tats, Paragon Tattoo in Moreno Valley and Envision Tattoo in Grand Terrace, to help collect toys, clothing and canned food for those in need. Owner Julius Vargas moved to Moreno Valley and sold his first tattoo shop in Grand Terrace to designer Jacob Doney. This called for two fundraising events in different cities. “Now we have two tattoo shops partnering with us to help these people in need,” Debbie Earle of the Grand Terrace Woman's Club. Community members had an opportunity to get a great deal while also helping those in need: a $20 2x2 tattoo with a donation of an unwrapped toy and canned food. At Paragon Tattoo on Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley, owner Julius Vargas was happy to partner with the Grand Terrace Woman's Club, the event kicked off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13, and ran all day until ten that night. “It was a great deal,” Earle shared. According to Earle and in part of the Child Help program, four families that were in need from Terrace Hills Middle School were chosen and given all of the donated items they raised. This being the fifth year of Toys for Tats, Earle shared, “Each year there seems to be more people going in to get tattoos and generously donating.” Earle shared that both tattoo shop owners Julius Vargas and Jacob Doney put in about a fifteen-hour workday to help collect donations for these families. After collecting all the toys, the Grand Terrace Woman’s Club including Earle, were able to meet the families at the school to give them all of the various donations of clothing, food and toys to put under their trees. “It’s great to have the ability to do this,” she shared.
