SAN BERNARDINO>> Feldheym Central Library is currently set to replace their skylight on March 25. This means that a significant portion of the main floor study areas at Feldheym Central Library will be unavailable for two or more weeks.. Adult book collections scheduled to be unavailable to the public and staff include adult fiction, mystery, science fiction and westerns; large print; adult non-fiction; and adult oversize. Paperback collections that can be browsed are also unavailable. Study space on the main floor, including the four study rooms, will be unavailable and the Friends of the San Bernardino Public Library ongoing book sale is also unavailable. The DVD collection is planned to be available. Other Feldheym departments, services, and collections that will continue operations include free public computer usage on both floors; the children’s and young adult collections; the California Room featuring local history; and the Jack Hill Lifelong Learning Center featuring literacy services, free computer classes and other free classes. As always, patrons can check out EBooks and AudioBooks and use our Databases on our website. “We would please ask for everyone’s patience,” said San Bernardino Public Library Director Ed Erjavek. “We are very pleased for the city’s support and completion of this much-needed and much-anticipated project that is replacing the original roof from when Feldheym opened in 1985. We hope this project only impacts operations for a couple weeks but it could possibly be longer.” Since books cannot be retrieved from the Feldheym adult stacks to be sent to the other three city libraries, Erjavek says the SBPL plans to temporarily house those collections in the public access catalog of library materials available via the library website. Patrons are encouraged to check the library website at www.sbpl.org or call 909-381-8201 for updates. Hours for the Inghram, Rowe and Villaseñor branches are also available at the library website. Patrons can also follow the library on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sbcitylib or Twitter at https://twitter.com/SBCityLibrary .
