The City of Grand Terrace has contracted animal control services including: licenses, animal nuisance complaints, shelter services, dead animal removal and all other animal control services to the City of San Bernadino Animal Control. Beginning Oct. 15, Animal Control licensing services will no longer be available at Grand Terrace City Hall. City residents will be required to license their pets through the City of San Bernadino Animal Control, located at 333 Chandler Place, San Bernadino, CA 92408. San Bernadino Animal Control will be mailing license renewals to Grand Terrace residents. You may renew or obtain a new license by mail or in person at the City of San Bernadino Animal Control Facility. Animal Control office hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that their office is closed on Sunday, Monday and holidays. For Animal Control licensing information or to report dead animals, file animal nuisance complaints, or any other animal control related issues, please contact San Bernadino Animal Control Services at (909)384-1304. These services and Animal Shelter information are also offered online at www.sbcity.org/cityhall/police_department/animctrl. Missing pets or adoptable animals can be found on the following website: http://www.petharbor.com. Please take note of the following licensing procedures/information: * Pet owner must bring proof of a current rabies vaccination and proof of spay or neuter (if applicable) to obtain a license. * The expiration process for licenses will now be based on the number of years licenses are purchased for and the rabies expiration date, instead of expiring at the end of December as they have in previous years. * The Animal Shelter will be sending out renewal postcards when it is time to renew your license. Shelter staff can answer any questions that you may have regarding this process. Micro-Chipping Your Pet The City has made an arrangement with AVID Micro-chips to discount their product 50% over regular veterinarian charges. The special price of $20 (half of what veterinarians charge) includes administering the chip and a lifetime registration in the National PETrac Registry and is available to Grand Terrace residents only. Once you purchase the coupon for the implant, take your pet and the coupon to the Loma Linda Animal Hospital and they will implant the chip at no additional charge. For more information please contact the Community Development Department at (909) 824-6621 or print the instruction page.
