The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) Foundation is hosting its Fifth Annual 5K Family Fun Run-Walk & 1K Kids Run-Walk on Saturday, September 28 from 8 am to 12 pm at Riverside City College, Evans Field.

The event will support the RCOE Foundation whose mission is building bridges for disadvantaged students throughout Riverside County to find opportunities for success in learning and life. In 2018, the Foundation awarded $85,000 to thirty-four students who are now attending universities throughout California.

“We invite students, educators, families, and the community to join us for the 5th Annual Family Fun Run. Our goal is to continue to grow this family event that supports deserving students across the county as they pursue a college diploma in preparation for career and life,” explained Ed Lewis, RCOE Foundation Director. “All proceeds will go toward the RCOE Foundation Student Scholarship Program.”

Check-In will begin at 8 am with the 5K Fun Run-Walk starting at 9 am. The Kids 1K Fun Run-Walk (age 12 and under) starts at 10 am. In addition to the run-walk events, attendees will be able to visit a kids fun zone, participate in a raffle drawing, and enjoy music and snacks. The event will be held rain or shine.

Participants can register online at rcoef-annual-run-walk.racewire.com. Race registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $15 for the Kids 1K (age 12 and under). All participants will receive a race t-shirt and participant goodie bag. Registrations received after September 16 will not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

“We look forward to another successful event and thank our past sponsors and welcome new ones as well,” said Lewis. For sponsor information please email elewis@rcoe.us for details.
