COLTON>> This past Saturday, Jan. 21, Leno's Rico Taco located at 549 W. Valley Blvd. in Colton, held a reopening celebration featuring a ribbon cutting ceremony and the display of a new rendering of what the new restaurant facelift would look like. In the coming months, construction will begin on creating a new and larger patio for outside seating and adding a drive-thru on the west side of the building. Valentino Moreno, Leno’s brother said, “We are excited about the new changes happening to the building and now we can better serve our customers and the residents of the City of Colton.” Back on February 20, 1991, Magdaleno Moreno, known to residents as “Leno” open his business and he recollects that he made $218 on that grand opening day. For the past couple of years Leno has been looking forward on expanding his current business layout by adding those items mentioned earlier plus more parking, a larger food preparation area and some office space. Leno said, “Construction will be beginning real soon, hopefully after the heavy rain storms that have come into the area and a drive thru should be operational by the end of the year.” Along with creating good food, Leno supports many of the city’s different programs and ongoing organizations. Leno started his career in the restaurant business under the tutelage of David Gallardo, who owned Amapola Rico Taco on Mt. Vernon Avenue in San Bernardino back in 1981. “David was a huge inspiration to me and I will never forget his mentoring of me in the startup of my own business,” Leno said. Leno’s Rico Taco is the perfect place to come for casual dining and a tasty Mexican cuisine. He and his family are looking forward to serving you either today or in the near future.
