On Feb. 8 Moreno Valley Elks will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. until noon to raise money for local seniors who are finalists in the Most Valuable Student Scholarship program. Finalists will have a chance to advance to district, then state, and finally national competitions. As always, the competition is fierce and all of these finalists need financial aid to complete their post high school graduation plans. To reward these local student finalists with as much financial aid as possible, Moreno Valley Elks is sponsoring the Feb. 8 breakfast - all you can eat for just $5. Officers of the Moreno Valley Elks Lodge #2697 will prepare and serve the breakfasts which will include eggs, bacon, sausage, juice and coffee as well as unlimited pancakes and trimmings. The breakfast will be held at the Moreno Valley Elks Lodge location, 12125 Day Street in the Canyon Springs Shopping Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Donations are welcome - Moreno Valley Elks Lodge #2697 Scholarship Program, P.O. Box 8318, Moreno Valley CA 92552-8318. Contact Judy Smith, Moreno Valley Elks Scholarship Co-Chair at 951-242-6419 for more information. Moreno Valley Elks Lodge was honored by the City of Moreno Valley on Dec. 3, 2014 for their outstanding service to the community. Certificates from Moreno Valley City Council and the State Assembly and Senate were presented to Christy Williams, Exalted Ruler of the Moreno Valley Elks Lodge #2697. Scholarship aid is just one of the many causes supported by local Elks.
