In a night filled with entertainment and giving back to the community, Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) held its 7th annual "ThankSharing" concert Friday, Nov. 14 at the Packinghouse in Redlands. The special guest for the concert this year was award-winning Christian singer Nichole Nordeman. Featured artists who joined the stage with her were local artists such as: Roxie Jane, Khari Washington, KAY-C, an impressive youth choir of 40 people. Community members were encouraged to attend. The night of entertainment was free with a donation of non-perishable goods. Nordeman is mostly known for her songs "Holy," "What If?," "Legacy," and "Brave," which embraces the Christian style of her unique music. Aside from her success in music, she is also an author of her recently published book titled "Love Story." On top of all her success, she is a mother of two. Local artist Roxie Jane is also a very successful singer as well as song writer. The audience was able to hear her perform songs off of her newest album titled "Chick Flair." Khari Washington is known for his unique talent on the saxophone. Washington has been playing the saxophone since he was a young boy, and strongly believes his musical talent and love is a gift from God. Other than solo-performers, a 40-person youth choir joined the event. Running under the direction in Gian Dudley-Simmons, KAY-C has been performing for various places across Southern California. According to Gallagher, the choir continues to receive recognition throughout the community for their discipline, unity and commitment to their ministry. "They're all great performers and people. We're honored to have them at this event," Loma Linda University's James Gallagher mentioned. Aside from the entertainment of the night, a food drive also took place. All attendees donated non-perishable goods as entrance into the night's entertainment. According to Gallagher, all of the donations received at the ThankSharing concert will go toward an event held in San Bernardino on Thanksgiving Day that will provide various services such as a meal, haircut, Bible study, healthcare, and more to community members in need. Plus, one-thousand attendees in need will be receiving a food basket.
