Nickelodeon Pizza: A Colton Tradition

COLTON>> On Saturday, April 8, at 2:30 p.m., the Colton Area Museum’s (CAM) guest speaker program will feature Gary Grossich, long time local business owner of the famous Nickelodeon Pizza. Since 1973, Grossich has been serving pizza to the hungry residents of Colton and is often seen providing pizza at several civic events. In addition to maintaining a successful business establishment, Grossich has a long record of community involvement and sponsorship, as well as holding an impressive collection of antique and classic cars. On any given night, various little league teams host "victory parties" at the restaurant and return later in the season for their award presentations. Birthday celebrations are common too, and even elected officials are known to frequent the establishment by holding their rallies, or just stopping by to "talk shop" with Grossich. "Whether you have eaten at Nickelodeon in the past, or plan to visit in the near future, there is no denying that Nickelodeon Pizza is an important part of Colton's history and culture," said Dr. Luis Gonzalez, city council member and CAM secretary. Community residents and visitors alike are invited to attend this heart-warming event. "The Colton Area Museum offers an interesting slate of guest speakers throughout the year," Gonzalez said. "They represent a wide variety of perspectives and experiences that are not only informative, but inspirational for those who want to know more about Colton’s history - past, present and future." The CAM will be open April 8, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. providing the opportunity to see the many outstanding displays of Colton history. The CAM address is 380 N. La Cadena Dr. in Colton.
